ACCESS TO ALTERNATIVE SOURCES OF FINANCING
Fulcrum Partners often finds clients with business opportunities that do not fit the mold for conventional sources of financing. This may include business expansion, business acquisition or other requirements for gap financing that are not "bankable" in the traditional sense. In the current tight credit environment, alternative sources of financing have proven to be useful in certain situations.
We have found a number of sources willing to fund selective business opportunities. These funds are not a fit for every situation because the money is relatively expensive. However, these funds can be much more flexible than traditional sources. If the business case is strong enough and the funds fill more of a near-term solution to a longer term plan, these types of funds often provide a form of bridge financing for deals that otherwise might not come together.
Every situation is different, and many of the lenders specialize in specific situations. These lenders can provide secured loans for recapitalizations or acquisitions, as well as relatively flexible mezzanine debt for expansion programs.
